I am now down to number 6 of my top 20 films of all the time.
Star Wars....or now called Star Wars A New Hope.
The original. The introduction of characters that will be forever etched into movie lore.
Okay that trailer was awesome!!!!!
It changed the making of films forever.
The trilogy!!!!
The marketing....tshirts-action figures-costumes!!!!
The event movie....the marketing!!!!
Everything changed with Star Wars,
You know the story. There is not much more I can say. The original takes you back in time, to where fanatics did not take over the Star Wars Mania. It was just a simple story of a boy, who will be a leader, trying to save a princess and a kingdom from a dark lord. A simple story that works. Watch it today and you still get the feeling of wonder from the film.
Now for fun facts:
-In the original script R2D2 spoke english
-James Earl Jones and David Prowse the voice and body of Darth Vader respectively, never met.
-Darth Vader was the first character created by George Lucas for the film
-The first science fiction film to be nominated for Best Picture Oscar
-Budget was 8 million. Production problems cause them to add another 3 million dollars. Those problems gave George Lucas poor health., at one point he had chest pains so bad he went to the hospital for fear of a heart attack.
My number 6 film out of 20 favorite film is Star Wars The New Hope. Oh...and Han shot first!!
