My number 8 film is the original Jurassic Park.
Based on the the Michael Crichton book and brought to the screen by Steven Spielberg.
It is close to perfect.
You have dinosaurs, in Spielberg's hands look amazingly real. Remember this is 35 years ago, when special effects did not have the computer software we do now. Go look at it again....the dinosaurs still make you jump...amazingly real.
Then throw in the danger...Kids in danger...the kitchen scene!!! This is another thing that Spielberg does right...put kids in jeopardy...yet the kids are always smart...and find their way out.
A little romance with Laura Dern and Sam Neill, two great actors.
Then humor by who else but Jeff Goldblum playing, well Jeff Goldblum.
Oh!!! Lets not forget, if its Spielberg then it has to have a fantastic John Williams score.

-The cup of water that was bouncing was done by a guitar string under the dashboard.
-Harrison Ford turned down the role of Dr Grant
-Michael Crichton sold the rights for 2 million dollars...before his book came out!!!
-There was only 15 minutes of the dinosaurs in the film
What happened to the kids???!!!
Joseph Mazzello (Tim)- Continued acting. Went to USC and got a degree in cinema and television production. He will be in the upcoming film Bohemian Rhapsody.
Ariana Richards (Lex)- She graduated from Skidmore College in NY with a degree in Drama and Art. She has since become one of the most celebrated artist of our time. She divides her time between her many art studios in the US and South America and Western Europe. She is married with one child.
So not much left to note...unless you have been living under a rock you have seen the film...
