My 10 Worst Movies Of The Year My Number 1

Image result for everything everything

My Number 1 Worst Movie Of The Year!!!

EVERYTHING EVERYTHING

Amandla Stenberg plays Maddy, a teenager who has lived her life secluded in her house because of a rare disease. If she comes in contact with certain germs she will die. Things get interesting however when Olly, played by Nick Robinson, moves into the neighborhood.

There is a lot wrong here....
The plot is just awful....
No spoilers here but when the big reveal is announced here (which I saw coming a mile away) it is just treated as a regular thing, nothing bad. NOOOO....they should lock this crazy person up!!
Then there are holes like ....well screw it, this movie is so bad I will spoil....Clearly this girl has not been outside but she has an ID to fly???!!
Or let 2 high school kids rent a place with no adults??!!
Or a High school kid saying...I will just go to NY????!!!
Then throw in just numbingly bad performances by all three leads. Just piss poor acting. They almost seem like they were all just reading their lines.
Then ...the two main leads Stenberg and Robinson have no chemistry ...so casting is even bad here.

Yes I know this movie is not made for me. This movie is made for teens...but teens cannot be that stupid to believe this mess.

My Worst Movies Of 2017 4-3-2

Image result for chips movie

As I painfully continue with number 4!!

CHIPS

CHIPS follows Jon Baker (Shepard) of the California Highway Patrol as he teams up with Ponch (Pena) who is an undercover FBI agent. The plot does not matter.

This is all bad:
-The comedy is not funny. Is it a comedy? I do not know.
-It was written by Shepard. He tried to throw in too many plot points,  he was allover the place.
-The filming seemed poorly edited, where the film bounced all over. I mean it was a simple film and even I got lost.... Why? Why? Why Everything???!!!
-Pena who is one of my favorite actors...is awful here. He is miscast he looks silly when he is on the bike. He has no chemistry with Shepard (even in the press junket with Shepard they seem to not be on the same page).
-How far has Adam Brody fell? Really??!! Fire your agent now!!!

Number 3

Image result for the circle

THE CIRCLE
Emma Watson plays Mae, she gets hired at a big Google like company called The Circle. While being excited about this wonderful new job she begins to realize there are some irregularities at this company.

There are a lot of problems with this movie:
-The film basically tries to create drama about Big Brother watching and the dangers it can create as Big Brother expands its grasp on your own life. When in reality it is already happening. Which makes the film seem dated, and with absolutely no drama, They try to make Bailey (Tom Hanks-Who is only in this film for like 10 minutes) and Stenton (Patton Oswalt) as the bad guys. However in reality they are just running a business that everyone else is doing already. They are just expanding. Yes there are ramifications from what their company is doing. But that is a slippery slope. Like blaming Facebook for that Facebook murder. Then it is up to the public to make that decision of how much they want a company to poke in to their personal business, by not being part of the company. So in reality...aren't we the bad guys? Again it is dated.

-Emma Watson is just bad here. I do not know if she is just miscast or a victim of a dated and ridiculous script. She is constantly shifting from a British twang to an American twang, I often thought...Where is she from??!! At one point she goes kayaking because that is what she does. However it looks like she has never rowed a kayak before. In fact she looks silly.
Speaking of silly, the script has her in the middle of the night stealing a kayak and going kayaking without a life vest...I have no idea why!!! Of course she runs into a storm...just odd and silly...because we are being sold that she is intelligent.

-Karen Gilan plays Annie, Mae's best friend, who helps Mae get a job at The Circle. We watch her slowly have a breakdown. And only Mae seems to care. Annie looks like a mess, no one helps but they help Mae with her parents medical condition. Really? This girl looks like a mess and no one is reaching out??!!

I can keep going on but this film is just an odd dated mess.

Number 2

JUST GETTING STARTED

Image result for just getting started

This is soooo bad. Like really bad. Bad. Did I say bad?
It is not funny. Now this is not just me....not one laugh in the theater...not one!!!

The story is stupid and made no sense. Worse it is boring.
Oh and the film has a score that sounds like it was in an old Barnaby Jones or Maddox episode. It is stunningly bad and lazy.
All three stars are ridiculous and clearly are here for a money grab.
I got nothing else here to say. Stay away!!!!!!!! Far away!!!! When comes out for home viewing stay away!!!

MY NUMBER ! IS COMING ONE!!!!!!

The Worst Movies Of 2017 7-6-5

Image result for beatriz at dinner

Starting it up again with my number 7 worst film of the year.

BEATRIZ AT DINNER

Beatriz who is a massage therapist is stuck at a house of one of her customers/friends,  house until her car gets fixed. Thus she is now going to have to stay for a dinner planned that night. Then shit hits the fan.

Well. This film is just annoying.

Everyone is annoying:

Doug played by John Lithgow. It is an obnoxious person. He the business man who cares about one thing ...making money. He laughs at everything else or everybody else. He is allowed to be that way. He is allowed to live his life that way. I do not like it but he is who he is. After all that being said ...it is a wonderful performance.
Connie Britton as Cathy the homeowner. She and her female friends tell you a lot about them when before the dinner they say they feel bad for leaked photos of a young female star but then pass the photo around and then laugh. She is not a good person.
Then I get to the star Beatriz played by Hayek. I think we are suppose to feel bad for her. I understand. Her goat is harassed. Her car is broken down. She is stuck having a dinner with a bunch of obnoxious assholes. Yes it is a shitty situation for her. However there is something about being gracious. There is a way to do things instead of hollering and stomping. We have all been in that situation before...you bite your tongue, be a grownup, try and cut out early. Then on the way home you say I do not want to see those people again. You just do not make a dinner party more uncomfortable by blurting out things. With all that being said it makes the whole film uncomfortable to watch, because no one is pleasant!!

Number 6

THE LAST WORD

Harriet (Maclaine), who is a control freak, wants someone to write her obituary before she dies so she can read it. She hires Anne (Seyfried) to write it.

Yes there are small laughs here...but it is not really funny.
They add a little kid here (Dixon), which has nothing to do with the story and I still cant figure out why she is in this. "Hey lets throw a cute kid in hear to show three generations, it will be funny!!" No not so much.
The film had a neat idea but it just was ....boring...and there was not much happening. At one point Harriet became a DJ. I know....REALLY?
All leading to a very predictable ending with a unrealistic dance scene where you see it coming a mile away.
Amanda Seyfried. Time to fire your agent. This film....Ted 2......Love The Coopers....Fathers And Daughters...Pan, she is soooo much better than these films.

Positives?

Well Shirly Maclaine is in it. But it was still bad.

Number 5

LANDLINE

The film takes place in 1995.Ali (Quinn) living with her sister Dana (Slate) and parents Turturro and Falco, discover her father is having an affair.

I was sucked into this film because the trailer looked fun. I had doubts, like this film, the last film by Robespierre and Slate got okay reviews ( Obvious Child), and I hated it. Well...I should have went with my instincts.

If you want to go to a film where a bunch of people just whine about life, this is for you. If you want to go to a film with really poor writing...some awful lines, this is for you.

There is just one good performance by Turturro.....that is it. Every one else seems like they are just reading their lines.

I hated this film. Fooled me twice shame on me!!! I guess in Obvious Child an abortion I do not find funny. In Landline..a woman cheating on her boyfriend; and a husband cheating on a wife not funny (I guess if this was slapstick, but no).
It is funny...every time I see Jenny Slate in a Robespierre film she annoys me. However she was pretty good in Gifted earlier in the year. So she can act....if that says anything.

What an annoying film.
