New Film Review: Morgan

Image result for morgan movie

MORGAN

Directed by Luke Scott
Screenplay by Seth W Owen\
Starring Kate Mara; Anya Taylor Joy; and Rose Leslie

A corporate risk manager Lee Weathers (Mara) is sent in to decide whether to terminate an artificial human named Morgan (Taylor Joy).

This film is as messy as it is predictable.
So many things went wrong:
-The biggest! A surprise ending that any watcher with a brain can figure out in the first 10 minutes. Because of that you see what is coming throughout each step of the movie.
- Paul Giamatti is in this, barely. Jennifer Jason Leigh also barely. Brian Cox barely. All big stars. Were they doing the director a favor? The screenwriter a favor? Maybe cash is king and the payday for just showing up was huge? We may never know but what I do know is....they are all wasted by being in this film for just a short time and not fair to put them in the trailer because they are not important in the story line, because they come and go.
- And finally smart people making stupid decisions. So many of them it gets annoying.

Well went right?
Anna Taylor Joy as Morgan is very very good. Coming off a great performance in The Witch you now can clearly see here she is a star in the making.

That is all that needs to be said. If you want to watch a better type of version of this film watch Ex Machina. 1 1/2 stars out of 5 for this some what exciting, predictable, cold film.

From the shadows as always thanks for your time.
