I know!! It has been awhile!! Well I have been a world traveler...well...running around the world I would say...well I did say.

So here we go....

PROTECTOR
This was pretty much a modern day version of the film Taken. Milla Jovovich plays Nikki who has a military background, she has to use her military skills after her daughter was kidnapped. Well, like I noted, it is pretty much Taken, and I was okay with it. I loved the action and the suspense...BUT...there was an awful twist at the end that made the film just irrelevant. This twist made no sense...and made this film drop to the bottom of my films for March. Avoid this film when it is available for home viewing.

READY OR NOT 2 HERE I COME
I was surprised how much I liked the first Ready Or Not. This one picked up the stakes by adding Kathryn Newton as Faith, playing Grace's (Samara Weaving) sister. I mean I was all in at the beginning. They added Elijah Wood and Sarah Michelle Gellar as the hunters. However, at one hour and forty eight minutes, it felt like a lot. I started getting bored half way through. I just felt like this follow up was not necessary and just trying to cash in. I do not think it is a bad film, maybe worth a look for home viewing if you have nothing else to watch and you like the first one.

THE UNDERTONE
Nina Kiri as Evy is wonderful in this scary paranormal ghost story. I don't want to spoil it, but I can say Evy has a ghost watch podcast. However as she looks in to a haunting from the past things start happening in her own house. I jumped. I covered my eyes. I was all in. TURN ON THE LIGHTS EVY IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY. I just did not like the ending that's all I can say. If you like ghost stories take a look for home viewing.

BRIDE!
Directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, it takes the Mary Shelley book to another level
It is part Bonnie And Clyde; Sid and Nancy; and Poor Things.
Well acted; highlighted by Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale. This movie may not be for everyone. It is very strange and needed a little editing, still...Maggie Gyllenhaal tried something different...points for that.

HOPPERS
A nice comeback for Pixar. HOPPERS is fun, and has a nice message about saving open spaces without banging you over the head with it. I enjoyed it. It was often funny and also filled with tension! I really enjoyed Hoppers.

PROJECT HAIL MARY
Based on the book by Andy Weir, Hail Mary follows a teacher Ryland Grace who gets sent into space to save Earth because the sun is losing its ...well..sun. While in space Ryland comes in contact with an alien who is there to also save his planet.
I really enjoyed this film, not as much as many people, I will explain why later.. Ryan Gosling is fantastic in almost a one man show. He will be tough to beat at Oscar time. Also a wonderful performance by Sandra Huller as Eva Stratt.
If I have to say anything negative it will be...if you did not read the book...do you really know what Ryland is doing. It seems they cut out a lot of info...so you really don't know what Ryland and Rocky are doing you are just waiting for a reaction.
Still...very entertaining...and I loved that it filled theaters up!!!
So here are my March films. Not a bad month. April ....will be coming soon!!!
From the shadows as always thanks for your time.
